PLUS:

- Claus shooting the top score in the super-six to get 2nd place. Wunderbar !

- our DG community, feel lucky to be part of it, thanks everyone.

- keeping my act together over the course of the entire soggy day. Normally I seem to let myself fall apart in bad weather.

- Stacey's Ace, and Jefrey bang-on write up about it. Oh, and congrats to Stacey and Jefrey on their first place finishes.

MINUS:

- the soggy conditions, albeit nothing anyone could have done anything about...

Lollies

- Twirly TDing his 9th Plaid! He has stood his ground for 9 years making sure the Plaid kept its integrity and as Darco likes to say "the proof is in the pudding".
- Twirly TDing the Plaid. He puts the $$ up front for this event and then prays that players show up so he breaks even. He puts on a classy disc golf event.
- "Ring" of Fire indoors.
- New 12 and 13
- The crazy lady card
- The Gobbles Ace Pot move and Stacie's ace
- John Pytel for taking down Ettyville and transporting the baskets to the Canadian
- The Canadian for keeping our baskets safe under lock and key
- All those who left the Canadian with baskets in the attempt to get them back to Ettyville. Huge help guys/gals. Huge.
- Andy Morrisey for continuing to support the Plaid financially
- All the other sponsors (OD Tour, UDGS, etc) for making the Plaid even better
- Ben-e for making sure the course goes in and that the Super 6 layout is installed and ready to play
- All of the carts carrying baskets
- Seeing players at the Plaid, that I've never seen before

Lemons

- the Frankenstein baskets - wow

Lollipops

- The course and venue. Playing on such manicured grounds is such a great experience. Doing it with carts is super fun
- Organization was excellent. well done Turly. We were on time
- RoF Inside was hilarious
- 12 and 13 were excellent new holes.....especially 12
- fun card mates all day
- Thumber eagle on 16 after a botched opening drive of 150 feet was one of my highlights of the year
- I liked 18 better and got owned by it all day
- #1 was a better distance that allowed more aggression and flybys at the green
- #3 was awesome. I never got my 2 but was in position to get it if I could putt
- Claus show in the Super 6 was great
- Initial cards based on divisions!

Lemons
- Weather wasn't great, but can't be controlled
- No out of towners (not sure this was actually a lemon)
- #6 is kind of boring. Not sure how to fix it. Maybe other side of the fairway for the green
- #14 was too short IMO. Saw many 2's on that hole with relatively poor drives

Lollipops

- Top to bottom the Plaid was fantastically organized. Everything went smooth.
- The course played great and I like the new additions to the layout. Can`t speak for yellows but it was a good challenge from the blues with a great mix of par 3`s 4 and 5`s.
- The Canadian continues to be great host for Ottawa`s greatest event. Chilli has become a new annual tradition.
- I love getting to share the club with white ball golfers. They seem aware of what we are doing out there and I think that`s really cool.
- Ring of Fire indoors worked out exceptionally well.
- Great card mates all day. Everyone having a great time.
- Officially graduating.
- Kudos to the those who designed Canadian Golf and Country Club. You have provided a playground for some great disc golf course designers to make us a great disc golf course! Thank you disc golf course designers!
- I just love the skips, rolls and hops you get on this course!

Lemons

- Way to much disrespect to the rules as laid out for the carts. If the owners don`t care than fine but I saw more than one cart drive straight up the fairway. This is a nice facility and I just find it unacceptable to treat the course like this. Tire tracks everywhere!
- Not taking better advantage of the locker rooms. Next time it`s that soggy I`m doing a full changeover between rounds.

Lollies
Great Course, numbers 12 and 13 were improvements as was 18.
Number 9, 11 and 16 are awesome disc golf holes!
A cart for staying out of the rain and some much needed sitting time.
My own car to get to the tourney, Iím no longer needing rides.
Rob Wormald, for fronting the money for a great tournament. He has my utmost respect for risking his own money to make for a memorable tournament for all the disc golfers in Ottawa. His vision for disc golf and bringing it to a mainstream golf course are commendable. Great Job Twirly!
The turn-out, it seemed like we had a good last minute bump in attendance, hopefully enough people showed up for Twirly to break even.
All the ball golfers looking at us like we are crazy and some of them looking at us like we are brothers, just of similar but different sport.

Lemons
A competing tournament on the same weekend, might have kept the overall Plaid numbers down.
The rain, but hey, who can control that...

Lemons:
  • None I can really think of tournament related. I found myself navigating across bolf rounds while on my way to my opening holes each round. It was happening between the clubhouse and #13 / #15, for what it's worth. I fealt awkwardly disrespectful of the bolf round when I did this.
  • Cleaning my discs after throwing "sh!t disturbers". It's a fantasy to think that the geese wouldn't want to be there, though, so this is a candied lemon on a stick, if you will.

Lollipops:
  • Another great Plaid Jacket Tournament.
  • Playing golf with the people I did. Thanks, Mike, Jason, Arthur, and Steve.
  • Ring of fire indoors. That was so civilized after living the weather of the day.
  • Super Six. What a great representation of winners in a winner-takes-all tournament. Excellent professional attitudes were part of everyone's game, despite the worsening weather conditions. thumbsup

Lollipops:

- The Plaid was fantastically organized once again. Everything went stellar and on time.

- The course played great and I like the new additions to the layout.
- Loved the new 12 with its gap and a few small side holes to try and sneak throught.
- Great new 13 and itís openness to all shot types.
- 18 is much better than just long drivers and a putt then youíre done, itís now has the tree line to play
with and a sloped green.
- The Canadian continues to be great host
- Loved the Ring of Fire indoors, after all that wetness.
- Great cards all day.
- 15 is that hole that looks so easy and you can play safe and take your 3 or play hard and get a 2 or walk away with 5.

Lemons:

- The Weather, but what can you do. It keeps you focused.
- 14 is getting a bit old with water on the right (9,11,16 all have right side water traps).

Lemonade: (the bad turned into good)

- After starting round 1 with a double circle 7 on 11 and sending two discs into the water I came back and landed a close 2 and getting my dragon back after it floated across.

- losing a disc on 1 in the trees in R1 then a card mates bad shot knocks it down in R2.

I would like to see more holes move around a bit just to keep it fresh. Moving from the left to the right side, shorter/longer shots.

Lollipops and Lemons is a thread where players can voice their opinion without rebuttal. If you want a question answered, it's best you PM your question to someone who can answer it.

Lemon: Results in pdf stored as a hidden file in a hidden directory. That's actually three lemons.

Lolli: Results. They reminded me of some people's accomplishments.
