man you guys can derail a thread fast.

holly .. i didnt see that full review last year, thanks for the kind words.

we have actually addressed two of your 'lemons' this year, with Discfunctional providing the AM merch, and, we've already started stocking up on bottled water! lunch will be better as well, i promise wink

I will also add that this will be the last year of the DGI. Now, that doesn't mean it'll be the last two-day summer tourney at Bronte, but what it does mean is that the D & the G part's won't be involved. take that how you will; i know what it means, as do a bunch of you ... come out and help us end it well!

i hope you get your rides and waxes figgered out and ALL of you can come!

... and if you do have kids you can still come. It might just require moderate planning.

Not in this review, but elsewhere, I'm pretty sure anyway. Feedback re merch was the lack of variety and I was more talking about lunch than water, which, well, you remember frown it was lame .. I'm taking care of it myself this year.

Wow, what a great tournament!

Bronte is indeed a Beast of a course that can tear you up if unprepared but, like an animal, can be tamed. It's a very well layed out championship course that requires good shot shaping to score well. The long tees to long pins layout is one of the most challenging layout I've played in my short career and forced me to use every disc in my bag.

The competiton in the pro field was fierce and I ended up 6th out of 8 players, not bad considering I never played the course before. The top 4 pros already had ODSA Gold Series passes so I was among the next 3 finishers that took home invites to the ODSA Provincial Championships.

All in all a great experience and I've got nothing but good things to say about the TDs, volunteers and course maintenance crew that had the course in tip top shape for everyone.

If you get the chance, play this course.

I told you that this course would be too challenging and frustrating for you Andros. laughing

With that said, Dusty and Greg ran a great tournament and the course was in top shape! I had a good time and created lots of "value" out of my entry fee. Hopefully I can make it out again next year and not snack on a bag of ____s the whole time Mad

I've said it before and I'll say it again, if you didn't get yourself to the DGI, you missed out. Big time.

Lemons
Getting stuck behind the pro card(s). I know someone has to have the honour, and I respect that the fellas deserve the time for their routines, but DAYUM. All the waiting (conservatively, an hour per round) really sucked.
My putting.
Having to leave early.
Lack of ladies.

Lollies
Dustin and Greg are a living how-to guide on running a tournament.
Clear and concise information posted online before, during and after.
White board with updated schedule and other announcements posted at HQ.
Everything prepared beforehand, CTPs, thank you speeches, coolers of water, scoreboard, you name it.
The province's 2nd best disc store on site for the full weekend.
TD calmly but firmly managing OPUs.
Lunch was fantastic. (If you didn't go, you missed out on some damn fine pulled pork sammies, suckas.)
The course. Challenging and beautiful. It's easy to see that a lot of work goes into this course, and the home team does a fabulous job. I also like that I could notice some improvements from last year to this. Fine work, Bronte, very fine.
Andros doing all the driving.
Darlene's improvement.
