I'm going to get a flyer together in July.

I'm hoping this is an ODGC sanctioned event.

This is the Ettyville Course Championship. This event will hopefully grow and become more of what I'll describe as a PDGA event although it won't be just now.

For now it's going to be a one day trophy event as a fund raiser for the course and by extension the ODGC with the basket arrangements.

I expect to see costs at around $20-$30 dollars to participate.

Being a one day Sunday long weekend event I'm not sure what to expect but I hope to see people come on out.

This is the Ettyville tag for the whole year.

Camping available on Saturday night and Saturday the course will be open and maybe some doubles action.

I took another long weekend as it was the only "available" date. I'll judge the date year by year but I'd like to have it from Sept. 1 on.

That's unfortunate but if you want to introduce more tournaments into sept and oct there are going to be conflicts.

Belleville would be nice and close for us though

I've noticed that this schedule gets changed quite a bit in the season which is just dandy for booking weekends. sarcastic eye roll

I know the ODSA series is in its second year but c'mon.

Second year? I'm pretty sure the CC has been part of an ODSA series/tour for at least 4 years.

I think it's the TD's/Clubs moving dates though.

Despite some of the schedule difficulties there was a lot of effort and engagment to meet about the schedule with new events taking "free weekends" or "what was reasonably available".

Unfortunately our LNF is not on their radar.

The ODGC has 10-11 weekend events in a year. We're going to have some conflicts with the rest of the world.

Unfortunately? Thankfully.

Driving 4-7 hours to be included started to piss us old touring players off. We built our own competitive DG scene here in Ottawa (where players complain about a 20 minute drive).

There are options out there. You have to make some decisions. Life is like that.

Unfortunately (if you're worried about it). I think you and I are not.

Fortunately there is choice that doesn't include a 4-7 hour drive.

I was going to make a suggestion for the Capital Classic we fill all 5 divisions that have gold passes for the provincial finals. That would mean 15 potential players from Ottawa attending the finals, competing to be the provincial champions.

With the current ODSA gold series format, we do not need to drive 4 - 7 hours to be included. We need to just drive to Camp Fortune (20 minutes) and place in the top 3 of a division to be included. Cannot get any easier than that.

Our LNF is 4 months away. Rather than Ottawa players having to make a decision, can we not be accommodating? What is wrong with the weekend of the 13th or the 27th?

The OD Team Kup is Oct 13/14 and the 27th is Halloween weekend. LNF is October 20th, 2012.

I was going to post in this thread, then I realized it was readable by those who deserve no further insight on the matter.
