I'm 90% certain I will be there this week.

Do you require assistance with the putting clinic?

I'm in like Flynn.

I can help with the putting clinic if you like. What time would you like me there? The earliest I can leave my house is 5pm.

Old Man has graciously offered to show us smarmy kids how putting is done. Clinic starts at about 6:00.

A very pretty night for Rec League. Sunny and warm, the grass has been cut recently, even the mosquitoes came out to enjoy the evening.

Jeff was kind enough to run the skills clinic this week. Thank you OMR for sharing your putting secrets!

For our third week, we had eighteen people show up to play. Wow!

Six of the group are brand new golfers, welcome Leo, Brad, Wade, Kyle, Wayne, and Liz!

I want to mention that with the addition of Brad and Wade, we are up to three junior players!

Last night four prizes were given out.

Longest Putt on #9 went to Leo, who wasn't even going to play at first, but it seems to have worked out for him that he did. Leo took home a Gateway Magic, donated by Andros and the Ice Bowl.

Ben earned the CTP on #1 under a bit of contention (my fault), and donated the Leppy Shark to newcomer Kyle.

Old Man again brought in the best score, shooting a 44. He awarded the Ottawa Adam Aviar to the top junior player, Clay. Clay, in a true show of sportsmanship, donated the disc to one of the other boys. (I didn't catch if it was Brad or Wade, sorry guys!)

I have to admit, I had a bit of a spoiler for who was going to take home most improved score, the player told me himself before he started his round. Improving his best score by eight strokes, Clay took home an especially sweet 153 Champion Leopard. Congrats Clay!

I think it is a little bit awesome that Rec League had better attendance than TOSS this week.

It's totally awesome and I think show's how localized energy by the club can have good results.

I think "all" courses could/should/would benefit from that type of club support. TOSS is a roving league but each course could/should be holding a weekly league such as this to build the local community.

I'll also go as far as to say this is the best way to increase/rebuild the DG community and I see "no" negative effect from localized leagues running on the same days either.

Let's get regular leagues running at all the courses.

Good job Holly et al.

Thanks John.

I really didn't point out attendance as a joke or a jab. I honestly think it's incredible that we're getting so many players out. And so many new people!

I didn't read it as that at all Holly.

Who'd have thought something good as disc golf, regular, with some advertising, and word of mouth could grow into something?

This is a great initiative by you and the club and something that we can refer to in our efforts to deal with the city to get other "kanata" type courses in the ground.

It should almost be illegal. Would crack dealers be able to do it?
